Reimagine My Community
The notion of an Iterative Design Process involves a circular process of Formulate, Test and Evaluate. Variants and conceptual labels exist. There are aspects of Reimagine that will look familiar to individuals familiar with a looping Design Process.
To assume we are just another Iterative Design Process (IDP) is an incorrect assumption.
An IDP (there are several models within various industries) tends to come from the corporate world, technical world, or academia. Designers, developers, and educators use it with a group of stakeholders to achieve a stated aim.
Within IDP, you will hear terms like continual refinement, cyclical design, prototyping, and so on. There is a language of sorts that IDP folks use.

While there may be a focus on “vision elicitation” (draw out a vision) in IDP, Reimagine reaches into different areas.
We also differ from what we know as “disruptive innovation.” This term often relates to new product or technology approaches.
We do not borrow from these areas during content development. We write from the heart and our own observations.
Money is not in focus during Reimagine.
Yes, we understand the importance of incorporating financial and related thinking into the final concept. For example, we could have used Reimagine as a social media hub and a marketing harvest point for email addresses. We steered clear of that.
Yes, it costs money to develop and serve up content (and so the Store), but Community should not just be about money. We ask participants to look at the money-budget issue for your project within Plant-Grow-Harvest. It is difficult to do much of anything without adequate resources. A Wiki faces similar challenges. They want to provide a public service “for free” but content creation and publication take time, effort and money.
Reimagine is organic.
It looks at the incredible value and importance of the human “right brain,” “spirit,” “heart,” and “innate creativity.”
Reimagine considers the centrality of “Journey.”
It may feel like soul-searching, spiritual journey and so on. There is truth in that observation. We don’t believe that we as persons are just a result of conditioning and products of our environment. Yes, those two factors are important, but they are not “the entire meal.”
For individuals uncomfortable with some of those “spiritual-sounding” terms, substitute terms like “friendship” and “innovation” or “creativity.” However, it is worthwhile discovering just why there is a discomfort with terms like “spirit” or “spirituality.”
We focused Reimagine on discovering solutions for people living together with shared benefits. By living together, we don’t just mean “everyone under the same roof.” We mean how to interact with one another for the common benefit while applying creative aspects.
We focus Reimagine on how we might help one another (our neighbor) in life. It is outward looking.
Reimagine takes the position that life on Planet Earth is getting more challenging and that we will face more challenges going forward. For that reason, creative Community (Reimagine) solutions will become increasingly important.
Does Reimagine-My-Community embrace new technologies and products for the common good?
You bet it does.
In some areas, we have more need for new technologies and innovation than ever before. Clean energy sources come to mind.
But we must not forget the ancient principles and pathways that history and human experience have taught us. Old and new must converge with the winds of imagination and creativity.
We dare not put science on a pedestal. AI can never be a substitute for a person’s heart and spirit. AI may give the brain a good run for its money, but the inner creative areas are independent of AI’s principles.
Reimagine-My-Community stands independent of Singularity thresholds or Artificial Consciousness.
We hope you incorporate a humanitarian focus into your endeavor. When money is at the core of your motivations, it will systematically torpedo true Community.
Reimagine-My-Community thinks altruism, a selfless concern for others, is of tremendous value and worth.
Yes, we are VERY concerned about Climate Change and the impacts on Community.
