A Modern Parable and Climate

You might wonder “Why?” Clarity is important as it relates to Community. For what purpose and to what end goal?

Our Communities, as we know them, vary. There are many factors currently, and potentially, shaping them. Major factors—like Climate Change—will impact how we live on Planet Earth. Other factors—such as a desire to live in a rural setting—can shape your hopes and desires for a new Community.

Then there are rising sea levels. We are having difficulty imagining ocean-side cities on stilts. Or climate migration away from low-lying land.

Or areas that are just too arid and hot to sustain life.

Then there are considerations of your family’s well-being, the food supply, crime rates, and political stability. Or, very normal human needs—like companionship—might have taken you into Reimagine and your reflections on Community. That’s a brief list.

In Reimagine, we share thoughts and impressions in a variety of ways. Sometimes we tell stories through fiction. At other times, we communicate through images. Or we might just take a position and make a direct statement. Reimagine starts out with several reflections on “Imagination” and builds out from there.

In the following Fictional story, a Modern Parable, we talk about what’s going on in the planet and climate. Often, we weave additional topics together as we build pictures, thoughts, and feelings.
