Reimagine My Community

Explore Changes

You got this all figured out?

We don’t.

While we consider ourselves futurists at some level, we have seen enough left curve balls in life that we know to take our own reasonings with a grain of salt. We do our best to predict based on trends but with a caveat: the issues and trends we consider aren’t trivial.

BUT, the core truths of Reimagine are valid regardless of what happens on planet Earth and your personal journey.

We aren’t alone in our thoughts either—you will find degrees of overlap on this site with other sites, thinkers, podcasts, newscasters and so on.

What makes us different?

We believe people decide issues surrounding Community from the heart.

The heart shapes thinking in each one of us.

That’s both good and bad.

On one side, rampant consumerism and lifestyle society and market forces drive demands. A rabid love of money and power by some senior decision-makers, at the sacrifice of future generations and longer-term considerations, isn’t helping.

This isn’t good for fossil-fuel consumption, among many other issues.

The needs in each of us for Community are strong. Whether you are an evolutionist or creationist, atheist or spiritual person, there are certain unavoidable eternal and longstanding principles that govern our lives.

By that, we mean Basics.

Food. Clothing. Shelter. Desire for friends and companionship.

Core stuff—not the latest toy.

We built Reimagine on a paradigm that places a high value on the heart, soul and spirit of man. “Inner stuff” or “gut” if you prefer. We place a high value on innovation and creativity.

Rethink uses Reimagine as a foundation to build upon.

The Perfect Storm

We know that scientists, preppers and many others are concerned. And with good reason!

History, the ice and sediment-fossil records and other scientific and non-scientific sources all show that life as we know it can transform in a brief period.

Yes, we keep abreast of topics like thermal expansion, subsidence, gravity effects, ocean currents, melt and methane. We know the Jet Stream has been lazy the last while and getting a bit more twisty. We live in an area prone to wildfires. We reflect on paleo-record cyclical concerns and trend lines by reputable scientists and peer reviewers in the IPCC.

Whether it is external forces bringing forced change (Climate Mobility), or a host of other factors, we believe there are enough shaping factors and trends to be very concerned. We think the probabilities of a quiet and “normal” life are diminishing.

We might need to add the adverb “rapidly” to “diminishing.”

Practical Please!

Most of the more tangible examples of how people desire to implement Community will appear in the Ideas (see Home Page comments) or Showcase section of Reimagine.

Rethink will have many more practical areas for your consideration.

However, we can’t stress enough the need for a creative element in your solutions. We encourage you to look over Reimagine to get the most benefit.

Policy Makers

Government, Regional and Urban Planners

How will you manage the unexpected?

Will you resist change with long-held bylaws and zoning while people starve or the homeless head count increases? Will long-held precedents hold you and others back? Will dated patterns of thinking constrain you? Content authors on the Reimagine and Rethink sites are often in the grey hair department—these comments are not just from youthful thinking.

Are you willing to look at the sacred cows long held dear in society? Single-family zoning for residential lots? Government-owned land? Water rights?

Will cities and villages even look the same?

Or will you take part in innovative change for the wellbeing of you and your neighbor?
