Dude, we know you can use your new wheels to fly through that traffic circle on the previous page. We know you can get to the off-ramp at high speed and avoid the traffic.
But we need you to slow down and see what the young lady is doing with a smile and….
We know you want to get on with it!
Totally. Understandable.
It is common for anyone with an emerging vision—arising from Reimagining life direction and the touch points with Community—to get swept away. Excitement. New things. Adventure.
What we are doing in Reimagine is asking you to work—thoroughly and patiently—through the Creativity-Focused Steps (Home Page, Briefing, Trek).
During that time, it doesn’t hurt to consider broad brush goal posts. The problem with too much of that is that it can limit your vision and your absolute best version of Reimagining Your Community. Money can sidetrack creativity.
Patience will pay you and your team dividends.
This is not the time to take Shortcuts. Spend your time on Reimagining and bringing Vision into focus.
Stay in the traffic circle as long as you can. We aren’t talking about “The paralysis of analysis.” We are talking about granting adequate time to Reimagining your Community.
The “doers” among you may find this difficult (Enough Already!).
It is time well-spent.
Put the microwave aside. Develop the flavors in the oven of life where great cooking develops flavors; often, it is through slow cooking as flavors blend and marry.
You will enjoy the “dinner” a lot more.
Taking your time is important. We can’t stress that enough.
Quality forms of Reimagination have an incubation time.
Reimagination resists impatience.
It is VERY common to need to loop around a few times to develop the Creative Idea and solidify the Reimagine concept for Community.
Within Reimagine, we see this as “drawing out” of the inner creative essence within you and your team.
Again—you are in control of that “process.” For some, they might get creative and imaginative insights at 2 AM. For others, they might get it golfing or on a hike. Others might want to do a mini-retreat.
We are displaying a traffic circle “roundabout” to suggest that we often need to loop around for a while to nail it.
If the original idea is to make an anti-gravity machine, it might be worth evaluating if the creative idea can make it to the finish line. Don’t want to cramp your style … just sayin’.
In design terms, industry calls this looping around an Iterative Design Process (IDP). But that’s not what’s going on here.
We are more into other forms of IDP (Instant Dance Party). So this IDP is a 3-star Muttlee-gone-studious warning—it’s not a dance party.
If you would like to read a summary of how we differ from this biz concept, you may view the official content here.
Tuning the vision and your imagination is essential.
The “first glimpse” of Reimagined Community is not always where it will land.
In the sense of “refinement,” we share common ground with “routine business processes.” Yes, we encouragement refinement of vision.
But that is where the similarities end. Even our refinement “process” differs substantially from the business world.
Your refinement process might be through a dream, a casual discussion with a stranger, or by observing ducks at the local pond.
We encourage you to put aside the manuals and learn to lean into creativity.
Yes, we are VERY concerned about Climate Change and the impacts on Community.
